Recently Liliana was going to mass and asked if I was Catholic. I said no, that I wasn't very religious. "Ay! Qué barbaridad! ¿Qué está pasando en este mundo?" How barbaric, what's happening in this world. Sorry Lili! She seems to love me anyway. Besides, I don't really think she's one to talk, as yesterday she let her dog give birth in a little wooden house meant for baby Jesus. There's some sort of Christmas tradition where you build a nativity scene with a little house for Jesus and then you sing a bunch of songs. Anyway, Christmas is over, the dog needed to be confined, and they had this extra little house, so there you go. The Ticos love Jesus but they also love recycling. And we have two new baby puppies!
And just for fun here is the view from the driveway at Liliana's.
On the left is her sister Flori's cabin, currently occupied by the teacher-trainer for the current TESOL course, and on the right is her brother Poy's cabin, currently occupied by a former resident teacher here from New York who's now working at a wildlife reserve nearby. And here is my (Liliana's) house.
I think I'm moving to Ciudad Quesada on Monday; my room there is very simple but it will do the trick. It's a month-to-month lease anyway so if I find something better I can always leave.

Wow, Mila had those babies already? That was fast.
